Seminar recap and opportunities around SEMICON India 2026

High Tech NL and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) recently organised a seminar on developments in the Indian semiconductor and high-tech sector. The seminar took place during the visit of an Indian trade delegation to the Netherlands.

The delegation included high-tech companies, investors, organisations developing new production facilities and representatives from knowledge institutions. During the seminar, Dutch companies had the opportunity to learn more about developments in India and to connect directly with members of the delegation to explore potential collaboration opportunities.

India is rapidly emerging as an important player in the global semiconductor industry. The country is making significant investments in building its own semiconductor ecosystem, supported by substantial government programmes and favourable policy measures.

Currently, more than 18 billion dollars in semiconductor-related projects are planned, including the construction of several new chip fabrication facilities. At the same time, India aims to grow its electronics industry to a value of 500 billion dollars by 2030.

While the sector is growing quickly, India’s semiconductor ecosystem is still developing. Strengthening supply chains and expanding specialised talent remain key priorities. International collaboration will therefore play an important role in supporting this development.

For Dutch companies active in the high-tech and semiconductor sectors, this creates interesting opportunities in areas such as equipment, materials, design and advanced manufacturing.

During the seminar, participants also received an introduction to SEMICON India 2026, which will take place from 17 to 19 September 2026 in New Delhi. Alongside this exhibition, RVO is planning a trade mission for Dutch companies. The mission will offer participants the opportunity to gain further insight into the Indian semiconductor ecosystem, meet potential partners and explore new business opportunities.

Save the date: SEMICON West awareness session

On 21 April, there will be an awareness session focused on SEMICON West and developments in the American semiconductor and high-tech sector.

The United States is currently investing heavily in strengthening its semiconductor industry and building a more resilient supply chain. For Dutch companies active in the semiconductor and high-tech sectors, this creates interesting opportunities for collaboration and international growth.

During the session, we will share insights into developments within the US semiconductor ecosystem and the role of SEMICON West as one of the key international events in the sector.

We will also explore the opportunities for Dutch companies to engage with the event and connect with potential partners in the American semiconductor market.

Mark 21 April in your calendar. More information about the programme and registration will follow soon.

International activities in semiconductors

Over the past period, High Tech NL has also been active internationally within the semiconductor ecosystem. Through seminars, international meetings and activities around major industry events, we continue to connect Dutch companies and knowledge institutions with partners worldwide.

Initiatives such as the previously mentioned activities related to India and SEMICON West are part of these efforts. Through these activities, we support Dutch organisations in exploring international markets and building new collaborations within the global semiconductor value chain.
