Silicon Eurocluster Launches Green Financial Support for SMEs

Post Thumbnail

In February, Silicon Eurocluster has announced the launch of its Green Financial Support initiative, a groundbreaking effort to foster the sustainable transformation of Small and Medium-Sized enterprises (SMEs) in the electronics sector. This initiative aligns with the mission to enhance European competitiveness and resilience in the electronics value chain, with a focus on advancing towards a greener and more digital economy.

Empowering Sustainable Transformation
The Green Financial Support initiative will provide SMEs with financial vouchers valued at €3,600 each. This funding is designed to support these businesses in contracting external consultancy services that will guide them in their green transformation journeys. A total of 25 SMEs will benefit from this opportunity, supporting them towards more sustainable business practices. The application for this offer call has started on 28th of February at 12:00 CET and closes on April 30, 2024, at 17:00 CET. We encourage eligible SMEs operating within the European Union to seize this opportunity to enhance their sustainability strategies with expert guidance.

Eligibility for this program is broad, SMEs that meet the European Commission’s criteria and are engaged in the electronics ecosystem can apply. Whether specializing in radio communications, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, or other innovative fields, this initiative aims to support a diverse range of companies in their pursuit of sustainability.

Selection and Support Process
Applicants are encouraged to select their service provider from the Silicon Eurocluster Green Expert Catalogue, which lists pre-evaluated consultants meeting our quality criteria. This ensures that the consultancy services provided will be acceptable to assist SMEs in impactful sustainability transitions. If companies want to participate with experts that are not already in the catalogue it is mandatory for them to apply to become part of our list and be accepted as training providers.

The services that will acceptable for support will be the next ones:

  • Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
  • Waste Management and Recycling
  • Supply Chain Sustainability
  • Product Design and Life Cycle Analysis
  • Environmental Compliance
  • Circular Economy Practices
  • Sustainable Packaging
  • Green Certifications
  • Carbon Footprint Reduction
  • Green Transition Training
