The Netherlands is Taiwan’s second-largest trading partner in the EU and Taiwan’s largest source of investment. In 2025, bilateral trade reached a high of US$16.8 billion, with more than 80% of Dutch exports to Taiwan consisting of semiconductor equipment and components.

It is widely recognized that the close partnership between ASML and TSMC has positioned both sides as top-tier players in the global semiconductor supply chain. At the same time, both nations possess robust semiconductor ecosystems, complete supply chains, cutting-edge technologies, and deep industry heritage.

Building on this strong foundation of trade and technological exchange, the Netherlands Office in Taipei have conducted targeted research on both markets. It will provide Dutch and Taiwanese businesses with an in-depth analysis of bilateral ecosystem, supply chain complementarity, current political-economic trends and challenges, and the identification of next-generation collaboration areas over the next five years amid the AI wave.
