Working Together Toward a Sustainable Future for Chicory Farming | Engineering Companies Wanted

Challenge: Less Waste, More Efficiency | Are you the technical partner we're looking for?
Chicory cultivation faces a major challenge. During the storage of chicory heads—a crucial phase in the cultivation process—the heads are treated with an aqueous solution of crop protection products to prevent diseases and pests. However, this process results in unnecessary waste of both water and crop protection products. To address this sustainability issue, High Tech NL Robotics is seeking innovative technology partners who are willing to work with chicory growers to develop a future-proof solution.
What is the technical challenge?
The current processing method for chicory results in unnecessary waste because water continuously overflows. This means higher costs for chicory growers and an unnecessary burden on the environment. The big question is: How can we make this process more sustainable, efficient, and smarter? We are looking for technologies that prevent waste without compromising the quality or yield of the chicory heads.
Request for Proposals from Engineering Firms
We invite companies with technical expertise to join us in developing innovative solutions. We are looking for, among other things:
- Smart Water Management: Design a system that minimizes water consumption, facilitates reuse, and prevents waste.
- Precision Technology: Provide a solution that tailors the exact amount of water and crop protection product per chicory head for optimal efficiency.
- Automation & Robotics: Develop an automated process that ensures consistency, precision, and reliability.
Why become a technology partner?
As a technology partner, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your expertise to an innovative project with significant social and economic impact. By participating in this project, you’ll make a direct contribution to making the agricultural sector more sustainable and develop technology that can be applied on a large scale.
