A Tour of Robots at WUR

On June 7, 2022, the facilities of WUR’s Agro Food Robotics team will reopen their doors. During the free event “Agro Food Robotics Parcours,” approximately 200 visitors will be able to take a guided tour of the campus, visiting various labs and robot setups.
“The last event was back in 2019, so we’re really looking forward to welcoming interested visitors to the campus,” says Erik Pekkeriet, program manager for Agro Food Robotics at Wageningen University & Research. During the event, visitors will be taken on a tour of about 10 locations on the Wageningen campus, where they can watch live demonstrations of the latest developments in robotics, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and precision agriculture.
Working on Key Technologies
The agrifood and tech sectors are undergoing rapid change, and the need to integrate technology into business processes is widely felt. In a few years, there will be a shortage of workers in the sector, so automating various complex handling and processing tasks is essential to meet the operational flexibility that will be required in the future.
“In Wageningen, we’re working on key technologies such as Digital Twins and various applications of Artificial Intelligence to help accelerate the innovation that is so desperately needed. On June 7, we’d love to give startups and professionals from the agriculture, horticulture, livestock, fisheries, and food processing sectors a behind-the-scenes look,” said Erik.
